21-2-402. Institutional Requirements and Standards

  • Demonstration of financial stability through review of current financial statement prepared or audited by a certified public accountant.
  • Illustration of instructional methods used by the institution including methods of assigning, monitoring and evaluating work, awarding credit and granting a degree.
  • Supply professional credentials for each instructor of the institution including official academic transcripts verifying academic status, educational degrees attained and the degrees attained are from institutions accredited by a recognized and accepted accrediting agency as defined by the department rule and regulation.

In addition, verification must be provided that not less than fifty percent of the instructors employed by the institution have received a masters or doctorate degree in their respective field of study from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

21-2-404. Prohibited Practices

  • No post secondary educational institution under this article shall award a degree, earned or honorary, solely on basis of payment of tuition or a fee, nor shall the school award a degree solely on the basis of:
    1. Credit earned at another school;
    2. Credit for life experience or other equivalency;
    3. Testing out of required coursework leading to a degree;
    4. Research or writing, and;
    5. Any combinations of factors specified above.

Admissions Process

Evaluation Assessment Process to Determine Eligibility

Kennedy-Western University allows applicants the ability to determine their exact admissions status prior to any program enrollment without any type of financial or academic obligation.

This no-cost eligibility assessment supplies the applicant with all the necessary information that, if accepted, will allow the ability to make an enrollment decision by providing the following information:

  1. The exact tuition cost, which is dependent upon the quantification of the applicant's background;
  2. Based on the applicant's previous background, which includes professional accomplishments, seminars, workshops, and previous college credits completed, an approximation of a credit award;
  3. The remaining number of course requirements necessary to complete the degree program, and;
  4. The amount of time that will be required to complete the degree.

Refundable $50 evaluation assessment fee

If the applicant is not accepted into the program or, if accepted, elects not to enroll, the evaluation assessment fee is fully refunded. Subsequently, if the applicant is accepted into the program and subsequently enrolls, the fee is then deducted from the total tuition amount.
